Storage Unit Size Guide: 16 Sq Ft

A 16 sq ft storage unit is around the size of a small wardrobe or telephone box, with enough space to fit approximately 6-8 standard moving boxes, or a combination of smaller items and furniture.

Whether you’re a business owner, student or house mover, a 16 sq ft storage unit is surprisingly versatile. Here are some common uses of the space:

• Household items: Decorations, books, clothes or suitcases
• Business supplies: Archive files, office supplies or small business inventory
• Small furniture: Stools, chairs or side tables
• Sports equipment : Golf clubs, skis or snow boards

You can’t store flammable, hazardous or perishable items. Refer to our full list of what you can and can’t store in our units for more information.

All of the storage units at the Place have their own individual alarm which is activated and deactivated via our security app on your mobile phone or via a secure PIN code. Additionally, all the units require a padlock to secure them; these are available to buy from our merchandising shop in reception. For container units and business units there is also the option of renting a heavy-duty Bluetooth controlled padlock, ideal for when multiple people need access to a unit.

All of our storage units are available to rent for a minimum of one week. There is no maximum duration – you can rent for as long as you require the space for.
